Social Media for Suffolk Cupcake Company

We are on Social media and hope you will be too.

I never imagined when I set up this cupcake business in 2008 with my very dear friend Verity that 7 years down the line, the Suffolk Cupcake company would still be going strong.
How things have changed since we launched one of the first cupcake companies in Suffolk!

We have seen many cupcake companies start-up and go away again and others flourish alongside us. It is amazing how many different styles of cupcakes you can get. I suppose, like every other type of art, each company's hand writing is different and caters for different customers. I believe there has to be space for healthy competition and its always nice to know you are not alone.

This is one of the reasons why I like using Pinterest, a great social media platform where you can share great things. Not just our Suffolk cupcakes but others as well. We have a passion for everything that is cupcakes here; in fact in 2009, just a year after we started, Verity and I had a competition to see which one of us would receive the most cupcake related gifts!

Instagram is another way for me to share instant photos with you, and there you will see both our cupcake photos but also wonderful photos of our beautiful county Suffolk.

Facebook is the social platform that we have been using the longest and on there you will find a multitude of photos for all sorts of occasions; our greatest selection of wedding cupcake towers as well as the odd cupcake we have made for 'no smoking Day'...

Twitter I use more for business, to connect with other Suffolk businesses or other wedding suppliers. It is always great to keep in touch with local news and trends.

Our work is varied to say the least but I enjoy every minute of it. You can't help but smile when you see a cupcake. And most of my cupcakes are for joyful occasions: the excitement on  a child's face when they have a cupcake decorating party and proudly take home their masterpieces; the bride-to-be nervously coming to peak at her wedding cupcake tower in full make-up but in her dressing gown and the man sitting at his office desk getting a surprise gift for his birthday.

So go on, click on a few of the below and see what great work we do. I welcome your comments and as ever your support.

Valentines At Stowmarket High School

We spent the day at Stowmarket High School today, decorating cupcakes with 30 students. Much fun was had by all students and teachers. Thanks Kim for organising it for your students and thankyou Hayley for being a great cupcake decorator as usual.

The launch of the new Cupcakery

We noe have premises! Hooray...

Still at home but its dedicated special place. I have my house back at week-ends, it is no longer invaded by seas of cupcakes. Though this may sound very appealing to a lot of people, it did have its inconveniences.

Leftover Cakes!

Ever wondered what we do with our unsold cakes?

Well we give them away on a Monday or Tuesday, still very tasty to eat!

If you would like to nominate your business to receive free Cakes and you are a local business, E-mail us at your name, your company address (esp the post code) and the number of people in your office. When we do have leftovers, your business may be selected at random.

Good luck!

Last week was Buildbase and Jim Lawrence in Hadleigh!

Two Become One

After a year and a half of manic cupcake baking, Verity has decided to leave the kitchen! She is now able to dedicate more time with her family and I hope will become a regular customer ! (I doubt it, she has all the skills to do it herself!)

Anyway I would like to thank her for being a great business partner and a great friend. We have had loads of laughs and I look forward to talking to her about things other than Cupcakes!

Bye Verity! :(

Otley College Big Day Out

Great day had by all though the weather didn't want to play! Thanks again to all our followers for continued support!

Cake a Difference for Bliss

Throughout the month of February, Suffolk Cupcake Company supported Bliss Charity in their Cake a Difference Campaign. We have raised £57.60 for Bliss this month.

We launched a new flavour cupcake: Cherry and Almond at our event at Jimmy's Farm on the 6th February, the full proceeds of which were donated to Bliss as well as a proportion of our sales on our courier boxes throughout February.

Thank you to all of you who supported us with this charity event.

Sunshine delivered to birthday girl today! A customer requested these sunny cupcakes for her daughters birthday.

A friend of mine asked if I could make her son some toy soldier cupcakes for his birthday & this was the result!

Happy 20th Anniversary St Elizabeth Hospice, Ipswich!

It was St Elizabeths Hospice in Ipswich 20th year anniversary today & they very kindly asked us to make 60 cupcakes for there celebrations at the hospice.  They also requested us to deliver gift boxes of cupcakes for their staff who were manning the eleven St Elizabeth charity shops around the county.  The staff in all the shops seemed delighted with their gift from their chief executive.  We wish St Elizabeth Hospice all the very best for the future & that they continue with all their very hard work to improve the quality of life for adults with life limiting conditions.
